Dunning email
A dunning email is the human half of payment recovery. It tells the customer their payment did not go through and gives them a fast way to fix it, usually a link to update their card. It should be clear, branded, and free of login friction.
Timing and tone matter. An immediate, polite first email recovers the most; follow-ups should remind without nagging, and the sequence should stop the moment the payment succeeds.
churnguardian sends a branded Day 0/3/7 sequence with a one-click card-update link, and stops the sequence automatically once the invoice is paid.
