Card updater

Card updater services let a payment processor fetch updated card numbers and expiry dates from the card networks when a customer receives a new card. This prevents failures caused by cards that expired or were reissued.

It is invaluable but not complete: it cannot help when a customer switches banks, cancels the card, or has insufficient funds. For those, you still need dunning.
